MVO data is available for scientific research by bone-fide researchers.
Where possible, MVO prefers collaboration on research instead of simply providing the data.
Collaboration is almost always done under one of two types of formal agreement.
Memorandum of Understanding
This is a formal document agreed between the MVO and the institution we are collaborating with. It covers all aspects of the collaboration, including the responsibilities of both parties. MoUs are usually multi-year documents and cover general collaboration, which can include several specific projects.
Smaller projects can be covered under a data licence, which allows use of an agreed dataset for a specific purpose for a limited period of time. All publications using the data provided under the data licence must acknowledge MVO as the source of the data.
